EWEN BRIDGE
The Ewen Bridge is a 170 metre long four lane road bridge across the Hutt River. Originally known as Hutt Bridge, the current bridge is the 7th in its location, however only the 6th and 7th bridges have been known as "Ewen Bridge":
First bridge: 1844-1847 (destroyed in earthquake)
Second bridge: 1847-1855 (destroyed in earthquake)
Third bridge: 1855-1868 (destroyed by flood)
Fourth bridge: 1872-1904
Fifth bridge: 1904-1929
Sixth bridge: 1929-1996
Seventh bridge: 1996-present
