Saturday, May 6 from 10am to 11am
It has been a VERY long time since we have hosted an event. So it just seemed hosting a CITO was much overdue. We hope you can join us!
CITO:
"Cache In Trash Out is an ongoing environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Geocachers around the world have been dedicated to improving parks and other cache-friendly places. Through these volunteer efforts, geocachers help preserve the beauty of Mother Nature's playground!" Reference: geocaching.com
"Geocachers around the world celebrate International Cache In Trash Out weekend annually by hosting and participating in Cache In Trash Out events in their local area. Events might be focused on litter clean-up, removal of invasive specieies, revegetation efforts or building trails. Together, we make an enormous positive impact. Did we mention that we also have a bit of fun while we're at it?"(geocaching.com)
"Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 240,000 people have volunteered at 11,000 CITO events." (geocaching.com)
Please join us on Upper Blackberry Creek Road on Saturday, May 6, at 10am to 11am. We have noticed quite a bit of litter along the road, so once again it is in need of our attention. This is generally a "quiet" type road (we walk it routinely), but it is a road nonetheless, so use your judgement and exercise caution. Another option is to go to the local park (refer to waypoint) that we have cleaned many times in past years, if you feel more comfortable volunteering there. Please check into the event before heading to the park if you choose to work there. Either way, your help is appreciated.
Bags will be provided. Please bring your gloves and grabbers.
There will be a group photo after trash collection.
Many thanks
Water and breakfast type snacks will be available.
As always....eat some, visit some, work some, and earn a cool CITO souvenir!
Be sure to log your "will attend" so that we can provide an adequate amount of snacks, etc.
Please feel free to contact us with any comments or questions.
