Welcome to the Bay of Sistiana! You now have decended 70 meters from the centre to the Bay-area.
These days the Bay is a very touristy place, especially during the summer months it is packed with people in search for some tanned skin.
But during war-times, this area was a very strategic place. During the first World War, it was an important port for the Austro-Hungarian forces, but it really got busy during the second World War when it was packed with small submarines! Even today you can take a diving course that takes you to some sunken subs. It was also here that troops hijaked submarines, because they were small and easy to operate, it was childsplay for one man to get them going.
