Geocache Description:

07 July 2023, 10:00 - 13:00

*** Updated July 5,2023 ***

MusikMaker , a HQ Lackey will be in attendance.  This will be his 3rd  Mega and the first one for which he has had to travel.  He is excited to meet other geocachers so let’s show him a warm welcome.

In addition to ACHH Geotour coins we will have a limited number of Geofest 2021/2022 geocoins available to claim for completed passports. In order to minimize driving while doing the Geofest challeng,  we suggest that you do the Fredericton’s Railroad Heritage AL before the Historic Sites of Fredericton AL.  If you are a craft beer lover we suggest that you don’t do the Fredericton Craft Breweries AL first or you might not make it to the other 3.

Parking may be challenging at Hanwell Place. Please be respectful of the fact that there is NO Parking on Nature Park Drive. There is overflow parking available at Hanwell Park Academy N45  53.404  W66 46.364. Go behind the school and head for GC961MJ.  This will take you onto the Recreation Park trails and it will be a 10-minute walk to Hanwell if you don’t stop for caches or Accessibility = Inclusion AL locations.

This is the information we received regarding dogs in the building. “Unfortunately, because it is during business hours, we will not be able to accommodate the geo-pups.  If you could pass that message on, to avoid having to ask people to take their dogs back outside, that would be greatly appreciated. They could secure them on the bench out front for the short time for an info session.  There is also the watering dish for dogs on the fountain that was just installed.  It is to the left as you exit the glass doors from the Hall.”

Road construction season is well under way.  Check traffic conditions on Google Maps and/or 511 NB before you set out and build in a little extra travel time.

Above all be sure to have Fun! See you soon!

*** Updated: June 30, 2023 ***

SIGNAL the Frog will be on site for photo ops, at least 12:00 – 1:00, maybe longer

The Prize Draw will take place at 12:55 followed by a Group photo with SIGNAL.  You do not have to be in attendance to win.

A special photo shoot with SIGNAL is planned for the 12:00-12:15 timeslot.  We are looking to produce a photo which reflects #GeocachingFunForEveryone which will include folks from a variety of demographics and cultures.  We are looking for volunteers to participate and could use:  a Family with young children, a three-generation family, a family with a well-behaved geo-dog and young adults.  PM us at CRAGNB if you are interested.

Geocaching Challenges for which you can earn extra prize ballots include:

For “Come from Aways” :  Showing proof that you completed the Fredericton leg of the ACHH Geotour, Geofest Coin Challenge, and/or Accessibility=Inclusion Adventure Lab while visiting the area for the MEGA.

For “Locals”: Completing these challenges in the period June 30-July 8

For your convenience we will have a limited number of ACHH Geotour coins to claim at the CRAG Table as well as tips on how to efficiently plan your route if you are hoping to do the ACHH Geotour and Geofest Coin Challenge in tandem.  Extra ballots can be claimed at this event or on Saturday at the CRAG table.
