Geocache Description:

The sakadas were Filipino laborers who immigrated to Hawaii to work on sugar and pineapple plantations from 1906-1946. They were so exceptionally hard working, that they were extensively recruited for this work. And at one point, over 100,000 of these men made up 70% of the plantation work force statewide! But sadly, they were often given the hardest labor and lowest wages. In 2015, a bill was passed to make  each December 20th "Sakada Remembrance Day" in Hawaii, so that the sacrifices and contributions of these amazing people will never be forgotten.

This is a highly conspicuous area, so please be mindful of muggles. Also, don't be alarmed if you see any spiders, they are harmless.
