Neuseeland (englisch New Zealand [njuːˈziːlənd], Maori Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) ist ein geographisch isolierter Inselstaat im südlichen Pazifik. Er besteht aus einer Nord- und einer Südinsel sowie zahlreichen kleineren Inseln.
Weder geographisch noch kulturell lässt sich Neuseeland einer bestimmten Großregion zuordnen: Das Land liegt teils auf der australischen, teils auf der pazifischen Platte und ist sowohl mit dem europäisch geprägten Kulturraum Australiens als auch mit dem polynesischen Teil Ozeaniens verbunden.[1]
Unser Antipode
Egal, von wo aus Du Dich in Deutschland durch die Erde buddelst, man kommt östlich von Neuseeland raus. Weiter kann man auf der Erde also kaum verreisen. Ob man gegen Westen oder gegen Osten fliegt, bleibt also gleich.
Warum zieht es uns dort hin?
Weil es ein großes Land mit relativ wenigen Einwohnern ist?
Weil es eine großartige Landschaft hat?
Weil das Land eine bei uns unbekannte Tier und Pflanzenwelt beherbergt?
Weil dort die „Herr der Ringe -Trilogie“ gedreht wurde?
Weil es dort über 30.000 Geocaches und sogar ein paar aus dem Jahr 2000 gibt?
Weil, weil, weil …?
Die Frage muss jeder für sich selbst beantworten. Für mich gibt es da einen klaren Favoriten. Es sind die Einwohner selbst, die für mich alles überstrahlen.
Sie sind: relaxed, freundlich, rücksichtsvoll, hilfsbereit und immer für ein Gespräch bereit.
Wenn es etwas gibt, was ich nicht vermissen werde, ist es das Toastbrot.
Aus deutscher Sicht nicht wirklich ein Brot. Aber irgendetwas gibt es ja immer.
Der Mystery zeigt schon einmal das Land als Puzzle.

New Zealand (Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. It consists of two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui) and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and a lot of smaller islands.
Neither geographically nor culturally, New Zealand can be assigned to a specific major region: The country lies partly on the Australian plate, partly on the Pacific plate and is connected to both the European cultural area of Australia and the Polynesian part of Oceania.
Our antipode
No matter where you dig your way through the earth in Germany, you can get out east of New Zealand. You can hardly travel further on earth. So whether you fly west or east remains the same.
Why are we drawn there?
Because it is a large country with relatively few inhabitants?
Because it has great scenery?
Because the country is home to a flora and fauna unknown to us?
Because the "Lord of the Rings trilogy" was filmed there?
Because there are over 30,000 geocaches there and even a few from the year 2000?
Because, because, because ...?
Everyone has to answer the question for themselves. For me, there is a clear favorite. The inhabitants themselves are who outshine everything for me.
They are: relaxed, friendly, considerate, helpful and always ready for a chat.
If there's one thing I won't miss, it's the toast. From a German point of view, not really a loaf of bread. But there is always something.
