Tiberias, situated on the western shore of Lake Kinneret, holds significant importance as one of the sacred cities of Judaism. Its inception dates back to 20 AD when Herod established it, and over time, it evolved into the most prominent Jewish settlement in the Galilee, serving as a political and religious hub for the Jewish community in Israel. The region around Tiberias houses holy sites of the three major religions, such as Maimonides' Tomb and the Heritage Center, Hamat Tiberias and the Church of St. Peter, and Khan HaHatzer with a mosque at its center. Tiberias stands out for its unique blend of the old and the new. During summers, scores of tourists and families flock to the area to indulge in the Sea of Galilee's waters and explore various nearby attractions, including the Yigal Alon Promenade, where the cache is located. In the vicinity of GZ, there is a sculpture known as "the mother ship" created by the acclaimed artist, Ilana Gur. The statue serves as a tribute to Gur's mother, who worked as a doctor overseeing the maternity ward at Tiberias hospital.
