About this cache: Welcome to Olana! For this cache, you are looking for a small lock-n-lock.
Olana was the home and studio of artist Frederic Edwin Church (1826–1900), who was one of the major figures in the Hudson River School of landscape painting. Here you’ll find the centerpiece mansion which overlooks parkland and a working farm designed by the artist. The residence has a wide view of the Hudson River Valley, the Catskill Mountains and the Taconic Range. As you probably noticed upon your arrival to the site, there are new renovations taking place at Olana. Key to this will be a new visitor entry and orientation facility that will be located in a wooded setting adjacent to the main entry to Olana. It will be situated where it will not be visible from the Main House or anywhere within the core historic landscape.
