I archived my Roosting Peregrine Falcon cache ( GC65V8C ) to make room for one of the Find Your Chesapeake caches ( GC7KAQX ). But it was repeatedly muggled. Plus, I think it was in the rocks that sometimes have snakes. Hopefully I can put this near where mine was originally.
I like coming to this area throughout the year to see the changes in scenery. Snow. Ice. Ice on the river. Fog on the river. Mayflies.
Mayflies emerge here and swarm the bridge as they try to find mates. They swarm all along the river, but they are attracted to the lights on the bridge and pile up. That creates problems. So when they start swarming, the lights are turned off to discourage the mayflies from going to the bridge. That happens in June.
Consider taking the time to read this wonderful article about mayflies (University of Michigan - BioKIDS). Mayflies might live two years growing from egg to adult. But they spend only a few days as adults. They don't eat as adults. They just find mates (one mating), lay eggs if they are female, and die. And a whole lot of them do it at the same time.

This is a picture of a mayfly and its shed exoskeleton on a door at my house.

Container is a bison tube with some decoration in the crotch of a tree and covered by a rock. Watch for poison ivy, but it is easily avoided. Look with your eyes. Container is not in the water despite what the map may show.
Congratulations to TakeMeOutdoors on the First-to-Find.
