ABOUT THIS INVENTION: KITTY LITTER

Kitty Litter was invented in 1947 by Edward Lowe who was living in Cassopolis at the time. His initial attempts to market and sell the litter were met with mixed review until he found success at trade shows where he would demonstrate the absorption powers of his litter to companies and customers. In 1964 he created the Tidy Cats brand and the rest is history. Tidy Cats continues to be one of the most trusted names in kitty litter today! At his death, his company was estimated to be worth $500 million (or $889 million in today's dollars) and is now part of the Purina group.
