Let's Get Outdoors #12: Deep Run Park!
Back to Deep Run this month, but exploring a little deeper into the park this time. GZ for the event is on an obscure boardwalk overlook deep in the woods behind the amphitheater. It's an odd structure, because it doesn't really lead to much of a scenic vista unless you find captivation in the close quarters of tall trees growing over an established wetland, in form of the one and only Deep Run, the creek the park is named after. But it's a unique destination just the same, and one I thought worthy of an outdoor event!
Additional waypoints include a set of coordinates taking you to the entrance onto the boardwalk. This overlook is wheelchair accessible but terrain remains at 1.5 because it's a decent walk from the closest parking to the end of the boardwalk. There's also an additional waypoint for where we go if rain shows up on the forecast, in the form of a gazebo that's not far from the trailhead leading out on to the boardwalk.
So yes, this is 4th Thursday. It seems the moment I decided to try and make this consistently a 3rd Thursday project, my schedule would go all cattywampus and force me to host my events on anything but the 3rd Thursday.
