Geocaching NSW would like to invite all geocachers to attend our next event, a gathering at Sublime Point Lookout overlooking the beautiful Illawarra area, with a walk to Bulli Lookout and return as a prelude to the event.
The event itself is an informal meet'n'greet get together. Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends with a common interest, talk all things geocaching, pick up the latest information on equipment, techniques and software, share stories about the latest caching adventure and swap travel bugs and geocoins. You may even pick up a hint on those pesky DNFs or get a clue or two on how to solve a puzzle cache you’ve been stumped on.
Details of the event and the walk are as follows:
Date: Sunday, 25th June, 2023.
Event Time: 2:30pm to 3:30pm.
Location: Sublime Point Lookout.
Getting There By Vehicle: From Sydney, travel the Princes Motorway south. Look for an exit on the left with a brown "Sublime Point Lookout" sign. From Wollongong, take the B69 Appin Rd. Veer left onto the Old Princes Highway. Go past Panorama House then look for the brown "Sublime Point Lookout" sign pointing right. From Campbelltown, turn left from Appin Rd onto Old Princes Highway then look for the brown "Sublime Point Lookout" sign pointing right.
Parking: There is parking nearby.
Cost: There is no cost to attend this event.
What to Bring: Please BYO sufficient personal food and drink requirements for the walk and the event. If you would like to sit, bringing a portable chair is a good idea.
Refreshments: Tea, coffee (instant) and biscuits will be available as it would appear that both the Sublime Point Cafe and the Cliffhanger Cafe at Bulli Lookout are permanently closed.
Photo: A group photo will be taken at the lookout during the event.
The Walk: Before the event, please join us for the walk from Sublime Point Lookout to Bulli Lookout and return, a distance of approximately 5km. The walk will depart at 12:30pm from Sublime Point. We've allowed two hours to cover the distance so this should make for a gentle pace. The walk is mainly along a well defined track and considered an easy grade. Proper footwear is essential.
Dogs: It would appear that your geo-pup can be taken to the event but they are not permitted on the walk as we pass through a conservation area.
Please post your "Will Attend" so you can receive announcements about this event.
Here's hoping you can come along and help make this event an enjoyable social geocaching gathering.
Cheers,
Geocaching NSW Committee
