The coords were recorded with a clear sky but is in tree cover. The container is open ended with a wire to hold the log in place. It will prevent water condensation inside and to allow the log to dry out if it is exposed to rain if not replaced properly. The concept has been tested at home for over 2 years and is used in several of my caches now.
