A not often visited lookout is a short detour off the Bathing Beach track where you will be rewarded with a lovely view of Halfmoon Bay. It is a sheltered spot with a seat where you can sit and enjoy the peace and solitude of the area while being serrenaded by the birds. You can see the coming and goings of the Stewart Island ferry along with other boats moored in the bay. Continue along the gravel track for five minutes to another lookout and seat overlooking Bathing Beach.
