On a school trip to complete the Kepler track only the weather wasn't in our favour so we ended up with a day around Motorau Hut. I knew there weren't many caches on this track so decided I would check out Shallow Bay hut with a couple of others and leave a cache behind :)
Lovely little hut (sleeps 6) but no facilities. Follow the sign to head down to Shallow Bay hut. The walk takes you along the lake a bit but it was simply gorgeous today with all the red and white fungi.
