Approximately 1km plus long, Connaught Pasar Malam is one of the longest night markets in Malaysia offering approximately 700 stalls. One of the most wellknown landmark for Cheras. Situated at Jalan Cerdas, Taman Connaught. It is also along the end point of East–West Link Expressway or SALAK Expressway. The night market operates on every Wednesday evening. Primarily known for the variety of Chinese street food. It is visited often by younger crowds from the nearby university and Cheras residents. Due to the lack of parking space, many cars are parked illegally along the street and highway. Hence contributes to a massive traffic jam to the residents nearby and the highway.
During the night market's down time, Jalan Cerdas is still a busy commercial street offering restaurant, bank, salon, cafe, drive-tru fast food and even gas stations. With the highway at its frontage, this commercial street is a great spot to stop by for Cheras residents before heading towards Kuala Lumpur. When driving pass the highway, one of the most prominent feature you will notice from this street is the huge electric pillar and the high tension powerline.
