This is near a few landmarks. The smaller park, "the park with one swing" is across the street from the Jan Hekman school, which covers grades 1-8. While our kid was the first to start with no dutch, it's now not that uncommon at the younger ages. On the other side to the north is the bakery, which has a world wide (literally) reputation. We've had many croissants and pain au chocolat there over the last 5 years.
