This cache is part of the Saum Creek Avian series and is placed just off the Saum Creek Greenway path, a pleasant forested trail along the creek behind a residential area. Bring your own writing implement.
The spotted towhee is a handsome type of sparrow with a dark head, white belly, and white spots on its wings. Its distinctive red eyes match the red flash on its sides. Towhees live in open woods that have a dense, shrubby understory. They scratch vigorously -- and often noisily -- on the ground with their feet while searching for their favorite meals of seeds, insects, or fruit.

Remember to note the color of the cache container -- you'll need that information to find the final cache in this series, GCA89GT "Avian Abode."
