Come one, come all to a geocaching workshop adventure.
Jesse H. Jones Park and Nature Center
Anyone who logs an “Attended” at a registered Maker Magic event will earn a special souvenir!Â
After this workshop, you should be confident to build and hide your geocache.
A REGULAR/SMALL-sized container will be provided or bring your own container!
Bring a tube of water-proof liquid nails, caulk gun, gloves (if you require them)
and any materials you will want to camouflage your cache. We will provide some materials.

You will be supplied with a suitable roomy container .
I suggest gathering swag, a small freezer bag (to put everything inside your geocache).
Bring small swag and I will supply a small amount also.
We will also assist interested new folks with some orienteering basics.

| New to geocaching? First, go to geocaching.com to download the App and create a profile identity (You can change it later when you get a really cool name). You will use your smartphone app or GPS receiver to navigate to the cache (geocache). Keep an eye out so you can spy the cache's camouflaged hiding place. Once you find it, sign the logbook (usually a piece of paper), exchange one item of equal or greater value (swag), and put everything back as you found it. Now, write a cool log and let the cache owner (CO) and others who plan to visit the cache, know about your experience. You may mention the condition of the container if it needs repair. You are now a geocacher! |
