Cam from CRD parks will be leading an informational discussion at the Francis King Park parking lot and will explain what is/is not acceptable geocache placement in CRD parks and the reasons why. This will include "Precautionary actions, procedures or installations undertaken to prevent or reduce harm to the elements of the material world that exist independently of human activity." (Nature conservation). Nature conservation vs human activity in parks and the balance between them.
After this workshop you will be able to answer the following questions: what are the CRD guidelines for cache placement? What is a good container to place in CRD Parks? How/what is the process to get my cache approved for placement in a CRD Park?
We will meet at the parking lot, at the posted coordinates. If you would like to bring a lawn chair, please do so as there is limited seating at the picnic tables.
The event will be a minimum of 1 hour.
