This cache is part of the Saum Creek Avian series and is placed just off the Saum Creek Greenway path, a pleasant forested trail along the creek behind a residential area. Bring your own writing implement.
The black-capped chickadee is a common visitor to open woods and forest edges. It forages for seeds and insects by hopping among twigs and branches, sometimes hanging upside down to reach food on the underside. A small bird, it has white cheeks, buff sides, and gray wings and tail. It is easily identified by its namesake black cap and chin.
Don't forget to note the color of the cache container -- you'll need that information to find the final cache in this series, GCA89GT "Avian Abode."
