Located at the overpass where the old Calumet and Hecla Railroad CHRR) line crossed the Mineral Range Railroad (MRRR) main line. The MRRR line (later SOO line and now DNR ATV trail) had a large rail yard here with various warehouses to the east. The freight depot can still be seen to the north. A large roundhouse was to the southwest by Spruce street (a few remains can be found in the buldozed mess to the south). The foundation of a sand house can be found to the west of the ATV trail just south of the overpass. The small concrete builting to the southwest along Spruce street was the oil house.
The CHRR line looped off the MRRR line to the south, curved through the Pats Foods parking lot, meeting up with other CHRR lines, then climbing and crossing here on its way to dead-end at the Red Jacket Mine.
