Fairfield is a small agricultural-based town found on the beautiful Palouse Scenic Byway.
In 1888, E. H. Morrison named Farifield after a town his wife lived in "of that name in the East". Fairfield was officially incorporated on March 3,1905. Population is 612.
Fairfield is known for its long-history celebrating Flag Day. In 2010, the town described itself as the "first city in all of the U.S. to celebrate Flag Day for 100 years." The celebration includes a Fun Run, an official Flag Day parade down Main Street, fun games, booths, and a beer garden. Even during the Pandemic of 2020, Fairfield managed to have a "stay in your cars" parade and Pledge of Allegiance to celebrate Flag Day and keep the streak alive.
This overlook serves to get a good view of the town, its several grain silos, two water towers, several churches, and many flags.
