This cache is a memorial cache for my Nan, Marjorie Cash that passed away in September 2022. She began her married life in maisonettes around the corner and spent the rest of her life here, eventually living on Egerton Street.
There are many views around this area but this is the centre point of all the places to go. Some of her favourite places in the area were: the Seaside Cafe, the fun ship, the grounds of the tower and the artwork all around Egerton Street and the surrounding area. When she was younger, she'd go dancing in the Tower Ballroom - remains of which are still there today. When I was young, she'd take me right along the promenade, visiting the Seaside Cafe, the arcades, the fairground and the fun ship.
This cache is placed where we spent my last birthday with her, and somewhere we frequently went for picnics with the whole family, so if you're coming for this cache, bring a bite to eat and join the tradition :)
Nanny Marjie would never fail to send me on my way without £2 for the tunnel fee, so we've left £2 in the cache for the first to find. Each time we pop around to visit we will top it up again, but please if you do find it, keep it.
