This cache was created and placed here for my Outdoor Education class with permission from Dr. Chorney (dchorney@ualberta.ca) to put it on the University of Alberta south campus grounds.
After hours of searching for caches around the Saville Centre, I came up empty-handed despite searching for "easy to find" treasures. I was also embarrassed to be looking in such public locations. Therefore, I wanted to make mine far less challenging for beginning geocachers to find with ample support and to place it in a less populated area. Additionally, I took a very socio-emotional approach to this project in hopes of making a positive difference in the lives of those who find my cache.
This location has a parking lot nearby, which DOES NOT require you to drive through the prohibited entrance. You are, however, permitted to walk or stroll through that entrance a short distance on the gravel road to find this cache in its small and round Tupperware container with a RED lid. Due to its smaller size, there is no writing utensil included. Therefore, I ask that you please bring your own black or dark-coloured marker and discover its use when you find the treasure. You may also bring a pen or pencil to sign the included logbook, but the marker should work for that task too. Lastly, if you choose to bring a trinket, I challenge you to leave something you feel has the power to make a positive difference in someone's life. Good luck!
