Welcome to Dacre Heights!
This is a beautiful property that has changed ownership many times over the years. In its present state, it is open for public use and recreation in its natural state.
It is popular in the winter for skiers and snowboarders to come, but it is a tough hike in the snow up there to earn your runs down!
DIRECTIONS: for people coming from the 417, Google will recommend traveling through Renfrew, however I recommend the alternate route driving past Calabogie on Calabogie Road, and taking Ferguson Lake Road. The distance is almost the same, the views are phenomenal, and Ferguson Lake Road was recently upgraded and it is in perfect paved condition at the time of writing! Save Renfrew for the way home or when you need a place for a break on the way out.
Warnings for the property include watching out for some of the historical equipment, although that is more for skiers in winter conditions- as a low velocity hiker in snow-free conditions, the odd artifact doesn’t pose much risk. Signs at the entrance remind you that you are responsible for your own safety.
Some restrictions on the property include no motorized vehicles, and no dogs.
Please take note of the site map below. I also recommend having a map of the trails/runs on your device, like Openstreetmap which is mostly accurate. Topographic lines will remind you some slopes are steeper than others! Please take particular note of the private property lines to either side of Dacre Heights, and be sure to respect the neighbours by not trespassing.
So, for this cache… You will start off by parking near the posted coordinates in the parking area. Proceed to the posted coordinates and look for a prominent 3 digit number. Its digits are ABC.
