It has been a few months since my last Creative Container Competition... So, this seems like the perfect time to get people to make more cool caches, with plans to place them. Let's put on our creative hats, see what new ideas we can come up with for some fascinating caches, and help inspire others to do the same.
I will be leading a group discussion about what goes into making a good cache container.
- Durability: Caches need to last in the environment they are in, for months if not several years. What tricks are there to make caches last a longer time?
- Moisture proof: We all know nothing is perfect, but what options work best to keep not only the log dry and signable, but any swag safe and fun for the next finder.
- Finding Unique Containers: using found items to make into successful, fun caches.
- Coolness Factor: Who doesn't want to find caches that inspire us to reward FPs? What factors need to be taken into consideration when placing caches in hopes of them becoming favourites.
We hope to look at lots of Creative Caches that are on display, and try to come up with ways to improve the variety of caches in our area.
Creative Caches should be widely varied so I'm hoping this discussion on making caches that will inspire everyone to add to the whimsy of this hobby, as well as stand up to our weather, and the test of time.
There will be at least one prize for Adults and one for Kids (If your child is entering please let me know so there are enough prizes for all our Young Cachers)
Multiple entries *gleefully* accepted! We're hoping you've been inspired, and go wild with creative ideas!
