O burro o símbolo da força de trabalho de Ferrel desde a antiguidade era o transporte que se utilizava para vender o peixe. No presente ainda algumas pessoas continuam a utilizar o burro como transporte e de ida para o campo.
Em Agosto nas festas da terra já desde longa data a corrida dos burros é um icon de referência na localidade.
No ano de 1976 o povo de Ferrel saiu à rua para impedir a instalação de uma central nuclear na aldeia. Pela voz de alguns dos protagonistas do protesto, recordamos esse dia 15 de Março de 1976, quando Ferrel fez nascer o slogan Nuclear, Não obrigada!
