Noah is 10 years old, and he doesn't like change. He loves to play soccer, a sport he's been playing for 5 seasons. He loves his cats, and his family, and geocaching... but not change. Change can be scary, it can make you nervous and even give you a bellyache. Noah also doesn't like to fail.
2sN2 and I finally convinced him to try baseball, it's in his blood. So we came here to just have some fun and see what he could do. Noah was excited... until he hit the ball. He was NOT happy. But, after calming down and listening to instructions, he knocked it out of the park! Figuratively and almost literally! We learned he was really good at batting. And he's happy he gave it a try and stuck with it, even though it was new and uncomfortable at first.
Sometimes you just need to take a moment and compose yourself, listen to advice, and try again.
This past year has been full of changes for him, and so far it's all been for the best. He's learning that sometimes you just have to give things a chance. You'll never know until you give things (and people) a chance.
PS... they sell ice cream and have miniature golf :)
