As you have been exploring through the canyon, some of the sights are pretty easy to spot. But there are some things that the Native peoples wanted a little more hidden.
Well over 1,000 years ago the Fremont Indians formed a variety of farming villages, many of which required above-ground granaries to safely dry and store food to be used at a later time. These granaries had to be able to survive through any flash flooding the canyon faced and blend into the environment to avoid others taking the food. Because of this, they can be quite difficult to spot, which is why there are some tools to help guide your eye and spot these little gems.
