Quick Cache and dash.
This Cache is at one of the numerous BWC (Belfast Water Commissioners) gates, you can see BWC cast into the top of the gate posts.
These gates mark the position of a water pipeline from the Silent Valley, You may notice the gates at the roadside are red while the ones in the fields are black, the pipeline changes position near this point, the Gates on the Annalong side are perpendicular to the road while on the other side they are at an angle towards the Silent Valley. These gates allowed the BWC staff (linesmen) to walk above the pipeline searching for problems at the surface.
I choose this particular set of gates for a cache site as there are no houses nearby and room to park in the adjacent gateway, you also get a cracker view of Slieve Binnian!
