Placed in downtown Lewistown...across from the Fire Hall. Why is this historical maker here? Back in 1863 15,000 Union soldiers, 2,900 horses and mules and 475 wagons under the command of General John F. Reynolds marched through Lewistown on their way to Gettysburg. On July 7th many of these men fought and died at Gettysburg.
