TELEMÓVEL
O Telemóvel é um aparelho de comunicação por ondas eletromagnéticas que permite a transmissão bidirecional de voz e dados utilizáveis em uma área geográfica, encontrando-se dividida em células (de onde provém a nomenclatura brasileira celular). Cada uma delas servida por um transmissor/receptor, invenção que permite trocar entre transmissões elétricas entre dois locais longíquos. Apesar da comunicação móvel ser conhecida desde o começo do século XX, a invenção só foi desenvolvida em 1947 pelo laboratório Bell, nos Estados Unidos.
The cellphone is a communication device using electromagnetic waves that allows the bidirectional transmission of voice and data usable in a geographic area, being divided into cells (hence the Brazilian cell phone nomenclature). Each of them is served by a transmitter/receiver, an invention that allows switching between electrical transmissions between two distant locations. Although mobile communication has been known since the beginning of the 20th century, the invention was only developed in 1947 by the Bell laboratory, in the United States.
Quando se consciencializou do poder destes aparelhos, a sua evolução foi uma constante com o passar dos anos. Os precursores dos telemóveis foram originários dos rádios comunicadores usados em aviões e barcos. Os primeiros protótipos de telefones móveis foram criados no Bell Labs em 1947, e a Ericsson chegou a desenvolver um modelo em 1956. Na União Soviética, o primeiro telemóvel foi desenvolvido em 1955 por Leonid Kupriyanovich com uns espantosos 1,2 quilogramas e com um alcance de 1,5 quilômetro. Kupriyanovich aprimorou esse modelo em 1961, com um dispositivo ainda menor, pesando 70 gramas, que cabia na palma da mão, e tinha um alcance de mais de 30 quilômetros.
When he became aware of the power of these devices, their evolution was constant over the years. The forerunners of cell phones originated from radio communicators used in airplanes and boats. The first prototypes of mobile phones were created at Bell Labs in 1947, and Ericsson even developed a model in 1956. In the Soviet Union, the first mobile phone was developed in 1955 by Leonid Kupriyanovich with an amazing 1.2 kilograms and with a range of 1.5 kilometers. Kupriyanovich improved on this model in 1961 with an even smaller device, weighing 70 grams, that fit in the palm of your hand, and had a range of over 30 kilometers.
Em 3 de abril de 1973, liderado por Martin Cooper, a Motorola apresentou e fez a primeira ligação de um telemóvel, com o DynaTAC 8000, que só chegou a ser comercializado em 1983. Este telemóvel marcou a primeira geração. Em 1991, houve a primeira transmissão do novo formato digital de sinal digital de celular, o 2G. Além de conversas, o novo padrão também possibilitava troca de mensagens através do serviço SMS. Em 1993, foi lançado o IBM Simon, que reunia recursos de celulares e PDAs com tela sensível ao toque, e que é considerado o primeiro smartphone. O novo padrão variado do 2G (chamado de 2.5G) adicionou o acesso à internet por telefone celular pelo padrão GPRS. Em 1998, foram disponibilizados os primeiros conteúdos disponíveis para download na Finlândia e, em 1999, o primeiro serviço completo de acesso à internet no Japão.

Devido à alta demanda por serviços de internet, foi lançada em maio de 2001 no Japão, a primeira rede 3G. O primeiro aparelho foi lançado em outubro do mesmo ano. A primeira década do século XXI viu um rápido crescimento da popularização dos telemóveis. No ano de 2007, a Apple lança o iPhone, o seu primeiro smartphone, em um formato que mudou a aparência da maioria dos telemóveis, sendo o primeiro aparelho a apresentar tela multitoque. Tinha, como principal característica, a ausência de teclados numéricos físicos, deixando-os para serem gerados por software. No ano de 2008, a Google apresenta o Android, o seu sistema operacional para smartphone, que logo se popularizou e é, até o momento, é o mais utilizado.

The first decade of the 21st century saw a rapid growth in the popularization of mobile phones. In 2007, Apple launched the iPhone, its first smartphone, in a format that changed the appearance of most mobile phones, being the first device to feature a multitouch screen. Its main characteristic was the absence of physical numerical keyboards, leaving them to be generated by software. In 2008, Google introduced Android, its operating system for smartphones, which soon became popular and is, until now, the most used.
