Church Micro 14792...Cudworth

This is one of my favourite churches, particularly in the summer - I love it's simpleness and features which differ to so many other churches in the area; so, when I saw it was without a Church Micro I was delighted to set one up. I suggest you wander amongst the old grave stones, or investigate the especially old one inside the church to your right when you walk in (written in Latin) - I have included a few pictures to temp you. When I hid this cache the churchyard was undergoing 're-wilding' with small paths mown between long grasses and wildflowers.
Saint Michael's Church in Cudworth, which is a Grade II listed building, has a hamstone dressing and slate roof, with a bell turret at the western end. The original building was built during the 12th century but only the north doorway and one small window remain from that time. It's nave and chancel are from the 13th century and are unusual due to the thickness of their walls. The windows in the eastern end and the south wall of the nave date from the 14th century. The west wall was largely rebuilt in the 15th century when the doorwar, the window above it, and the buttresses were constructed.
Inside, the building has a three bay nave, two-bay chancel and a north isle. It's pulpit is Jacobean, and it's 13th century cylindrical font has a band of chip-carved satires around the top and stands on a cylindrical stem. There are also some fragments of medieval stained glass in the windows.
The Cache itself is a camo covered film cannister.
Please do not enter the field on the other side of the gate (as requested by the church itself). There is no need to do so to retrieve this cache.
