Hartkaiser - Standseilbahn
Geschichte:
Die Hartkaiserbahn auf den Hartkaiser war eine auf Schienen fahrende Standseilbahn, welche den Gewichtsausgleich zwischen einem Tal- und einem Bergwaggon nutzt.
Gebaut wurde die Hartkaiserbahn 1970 von VÖEST-Alpine. Hersteller der ersten Wagen war die Firma Swoboda. Die Baukosten betrugen 36 Millionen öS (inklusive Stations- und Restaurantgebäuden 80 Millionen öS), die erste Fahrt erfolgte am 30. November 1972. 1984 wurde die Bahn mit neuen Wagen der Firma Gangloff ausgerüstet und die Maximalgeschwindigkeit auf 12 m/s erhöht. Die Bahn hatte eine schräge Länge von 2317 m, überwand einen Höhenunterschied von 706 m und eine Förderleistung von 1550 Personen/Stunde.
Die Hartkaiserbahn wurde im Frühjahr 2015 abgebaut und durch eine hypermoderne 10er-XLarge-Gondelbahn, die alle Stücke aktueller Seilbahntechnik spielt, von Doppelmayr ersetzt. Die neue Hartkaiser-Bahn ist eine der modernsten Seilbahnen weltweit. Alle Kabinen sind mit Sitzheizung und WLAN ausgestattet, behindertengerecht & ein besonders langer Einstiegsbereich sorgt für bequemes und entspanntes Zusteigen. Eröffnung war am 5. Dezember 2015. Die Bahn hat eine schräge Länge von 2257 m und eine Förderleistung von 3200 Personen/Stunde.
History:
The Hartkaiserbahn to the Hartkaiser was a funicular railway running on rails, which uses the weight balance between a valley car and a mountain car.
The Hartkaiserbahn was built by VÖEST-Alpine in 1970. The manufacturer of the first cars was Swoboda. The construction costs amounted to 36 million Austrian Schillings (including station and restaurant buildings 80 million Austrian Schillings), the first ride took place on November 30, 1972. In 1984 the railroad was equipped with new wagons of the company Gangloff and the maximum speed was increased to 12 m/s. The railroad had an inclined length of 2317 m, overcame a height difference of 706 m and a transport capacity of 1550 persons/hour.
The Hartkaiserbahn was dismantled in spring 2015 and replaced by a hypermodern 10-seater XLarge gondola lift from Doppelmayr containing all the pieces of current ropeway technology. The new Hartkaiser lift is one of the most modern ropeways in the world. All cabins are equipped with seat heating and WiFi, are handicapped accessible & a particularly long boarding area ensures comfortable and relaxed boarding. Opening was on December 5, 2015, the lift has an inclined length of 2257 m and a transport capacity of 3200 people/hour.

Zum Cache kommt man entweder bequem mit der Gondel, oder alternativ kann man natürlich auch zu Fuß (ca. 2,5h, 750hm) hoch gehen. Der Cache liegt bei der alten Standseilbahn zwischen Steinen.
Im Winter ist der Cache wegen des Schnee's nicht auffindbar.
Parking is available at the park coordinates.
To get to the cache you can either comfortably take the gondola, or alternatively you can of course walk up (about 2.5h, 750hm). The cache is located at the old funicular between rocks.
In winter, the cache cannot be found because of the snow.
