Geocache Description:

High clearance vehicle strongly recommended to get to the parking area, although in dry conditions, 4-wheel drive may not be necessary.

I saw this trail while getting Larry the Pool Guy's cache, "Smiley Rocks", and was intrigued with why it was there and to where did it lead.  First off, it has a pretty ugly beginning with old buckets of paint having been dumped right near the suggested parking.  On your return to you vehicle, you may consider hauling out one of the buckets like I did.

Past the buckets, however, the trail is actually bucolic.  It seems carpeted with, at the time of my walk, freshly "mowed" grass (not dirt).  It was lush and green and shaded due to being on a north facing slope.  There were 3 locked manholes I passed before coming to the end of the trail.  If anyone knows what these are for out here, I'd love to know.

You don't have to worry about how far to walk on this trail because after about 0.2 miles, it comes to a halt and is not maintained (manicured?) past this point.  And so it was that this seemed a good spot for a cache that I had carried down with me.  You are looking for a club store style nut/candy jar.  As you look you may hear sounds from the shooting range below.

Enjoy this adventure away from it all!  You will have this trail to yourself.
