Mais d'abord un peu d'histoire sur ce lieu:
Cette cache vous emmène découvrir un site remarquable du patrimoine local. La meunerie du moulin de Ferrières remonte à 1745 mais la bâtisse a évolué au fil du temps. A la mort du dernier meunier, la commune de Héron a décidé d’acquérir le moulin afin de préserver ce patrimoine et de perpétuer son histoire, ses traditions et ses valeurs. De nombreux travaux d’aménagement ont été réalisé depuis 2015 et ils ne sont d’ailleurs pas encore terminés. Le moulin de Ferrière est un des derniers moulins artisanaux encore en activité en Wallonie. Le site accueille désormais également une boutique de produits du terroir, la meunerie, une boulangerie, un restaurant mais aussi de nombreuses activités pour mettre en avant le patrimoine, les produits locaux et circuits courts. La commune a également fait l’acquisition du bois jouxtant le moulin pour en faire un espace public de découverte de la nature. Découvrez-en plus sur le site du moulin de Ferrières.

Description du chemin à parcourir :
Vous faites face à un endroit particulier. Entrez et avancez d'abord de 40m le long du chemin puis continuez sur 60m le long de celle qui donne vie au moulin. Tournez de 90° vers la droite et dirigez vous vers celle qui actionne le moulin. Passez l'arche à sa gauche. Empruntez toutes les pièces de pierre, puis tournez-vous vers la droite. Comptez jusqu'à trois et cherchez finalement la boîte aux lettres.

Eerst een kleine uitleg over dit plek en zijn geschiedenis
Deze cache neemt u mee om een opmerkelijke lokale erfgoedsite te ontdekken. De maalderij van Ferrières dateert van 1745, maar het gebouw is in de loop der tijden geëvolueerd. Toen de laatste molenaar stierf, besloot de gemeente Heron de molen aan te kopen om dit erfgoed te bewaren en de geschiedenis, tradities en waarden ervan in stand te houden. Many development works have been carried out since 2015 and they are not yet finished. De molen van Ferrière is een van de laatste nog in bedrijf zijnde ambachtelijke molens in Wallonië. Op de site zijn nu ook een winkel met streekproducten, de molen, een bakkerij, een restaurant en tal van activiteiten ter bevordering van het erfgoed, streekproducten en korte circuits gevestigd. De gemeente heeft ook het bos aangrenzend aan de molen aangekocht om er een openbare ruimte van te maken om de natuur te ontdekken. Meer informatie vindt u op de website van de molen van Ferrières.

Beschrijving van de te verlopen weg :
Je staat voor een bepaalde plek. Ga naar binnen en ga 40 meter langs het pad. Dan ga verder op 60m langs het geluid van degene die leven geeft aan de molen. Draai 90° naar rechts en ga naar degene die de molen bedient. Ga door de boog links van hem. Gebruik al de stenen stukken en kijk naar rechts. Tel tot drie en eindelijk doorzoek de brievenbus.

This cache takes you to discover a remarkable site of local heritage. The milling of the Ferrières mill dates back to 1745 but the building has evolved over time. When the last miller died, the commune of Heron decided to acquire the mill in order to preserve this heritage and perpetuate its history, traditions and values. Numerous development works have been carried out between 2015 and 2023. The mill of Ferrière is one of the last artisanal mills still in activity in Wallonia. The site now also hosts a store of local products, the mill, a bakery, a restaurant but also many activities to highlight the heritage, local products and short circuits.
