5:30PM to 8:00PM
This meeting is open to everyone (geocachers and muggles). No purchase is required to participate.
I am planning on discussing quality and creative caches. What makes a quality cache? We will discuss how to find guidelines on geocaching.com for placing caches. We will discuss why and how to get permission for placing caches. What community resources do we have to help us place caches. Then lets discuss actual containers. I will show examples of some quality containers. Next we will share some creative caches we have seen out in the wild. We will then discuss what makes a creative cache. Is it just containers or are there other aspects of bringing a cacher to a specific spot? I will show some examples of some creative caches. Finally, as a group I will show some easy creative caches that have appeared on "Behind the Cache". After the videos we will actually make a couple of caches. We will make a switchplate cache and a retractable bison tube cache. All materials will be provided at no cost.
After we build our caches let's share stories and talk about our geocaching experiences.
Geocachers who log “Attended” on this Event will receive the official Maker Magic souvenir.
