Egbe Hospital was founded in 1952 by SIM (Serving in Mission, formerly Sudan Interior Mission) missionaries Dr. & Mrs. Campion. In 2010, the founders' son and spouse, Don & Sueanne Campion, and the founders' daughter, Betsie Campion Smith, in partnership with ECWA (Evangelical Church Wins All), SIM and Samaritan's Purse/World Medical Mission, embarked on the Egbe Hospital Revitalization Project. The project was commenced to upgrade the hospital and housing infrastructure, restore water and electricity, upgrade medical equipment, and recruit Nigerian and missionary administrative, medical, and maintenance staff.
The geocache is located a short drive and hike from the Hospital, at the top of Prayer Mountain.
