World Oceans Day is celebrated on June 8 every year to raise awareness about protecting our oceans for so many reasons:

  • Our oceans cover 70% of the planet and supports life as we know it
  • Every second breath we take comes from the ocean
  • Our oceans feed billions of people
  • Our oceans provide 80% of the world’s biodiversity.

Let's get together on Outer Cove beach with our geocaching community and join millions of others around our blue planet to celebrate and take action for our shared oceans.

For the event:

  • Seven (7) WOD 2023 related caches have been placed at or near popular beaches for the event
  • We will bring a reusable garbage bin to collect the trash, hand sanitizer and a snack for your efforts
  • We will have reusable gloves for everyone to cut down on single use plastics
  • Dress for the weather because we will meet regardless
  • There will be a number of PRIZE DRAWS OF OCEAN THEMED SWAG for those who attended the event!!!!!
