MK23 Wildlife Trail D - Dragonflies and Damsels
Given they both begin with D and are quite difficult to tell apart we have dragonflies and damsels together. They actually spend most of their life under water as a nymph only emerging in late spring/early summer to find a mate. There are a considerable number of different of each and provide many a tasty snack for birds though they in turn feed on midges and flies. They are often iridescent so keep a keen eye out and see how many different ones you can see.
This is one of 26 caches celebrating the flora and fauna of Milton Keynes, it's not just concrete cows and roundabouts. How many of our different plants and animals can you spot in our City? Please do add photos to yours logs
All the caches are on a walk near Willen Lake and can be easily navigated. They are all available from running the Wherigo cartridge which is available here: MK23 Wildlife Trail
Thank you to the Parks Trust and MKGees for their help and permission to set these caches.
