This letterbox is not at the posted coordinates. To find it, you'll need to take a short stroll through the Kelley Park Disc Golf Course. You might also learn a little bit about how disc golf is set up!
It is approximately 350 feet from the starting coordinates to the final. You do not need to leave the trail except for a few steps at the final. This letterbox is best done while walking the trail in a counter-clockwise direction from the recommended trailhead. (See waypoints.)
Let's get started!
- At the starting coordinates, you will see a sign for Hole # 11. This is the "short" teepad for players who want to throw a shorter distance. (There is also a "long" teepad nearby.)
- Continue walking northwest on the trail (counterclockwise) for approximately 250 feet. The trail will curve gently to the left, and you will see the first basket for Hole #10 about 50' off the trail in the field to your left. (Each hole in this course has several baskets.)
- Note: If you're not sure you're at the right basket, just check your distance from the starting coordinates. You can also look for two skinny trees next to the trail. If you look between the trees and see the basket, you're in the right place. (See the gallery for a photo.)
- Continue walking in the same direction for approximately 100 more feet, then look to your right for a partially ivy-covered tree that angles toward the trail at approximately 45 degrees. Head to the base of the tree and start your search. (See the gallery for a photo.)
You're looking for a regular-sized snaplock container with a "letterbox" inside. When you find the cache, feel free to use the stamp but please leave it in the cache.
This cache is located on the trail around the disc golf course in Kelley Park. Please stay on the trail and do not walk through the disc golf course. Kelley Park hours are 8 a.m. to half-hour after sunset. Dogs are allowed on leash.
