Misli zbrano – zbrana bo pot.
Misli vedro – vedro bo srce.
Sočutna misel: spremeni sebe in spremenil boš svet.
Slišati glas, videti luč, sprejeti darilo, biti hvaležen – biti in ostati ČLOVEK.

The Memorial Park in Kamniška Bistrica is dedicated to the memory of those who lost their lives in the Kamnik Alps. The park also features a memorial plaque honoring the world-renowned alpinist Tomaž Humar, who tragically passed away on Mount Langtang Lirung in Nepal.
Tomaž Humar (February 18, 1969 - November 2009) was a Slovenian mountaineer known for his remarkable ascents and courage. He lived in Kamnik, was a father of two children, and worked at the Customs Administration in Ljubljana. Since 1987, he was a member of the Kamnik Mountaineering Club.
Tomaž completed over 1,500 climbs, including 70 first ascents both domestically and internationally. Fame and awards were not his main motivations for climbing. He climbed because he truly felt alive above 5,000 meters. The cliffs were his home, where he was closest to his inner self.
He was a unique alpinist who rejected conventional Himalayan expeditions that required following a leader. He became his own leader. His greatest achievement was a solo ascent in alpine style on the most challenging wall of his career - Dhaulagiri.
Tomaž believed that solo alpine style was an art of survival in verticality, reserved for the strongest and unwavering. He was accompanied by a private team, referred to by some as the "horde of privatists," which included his closest friends, climbing partners, personal doctor, and bioenergeticist. These were the people who were with him and provided support during the most difficult moments.
In 2001, he suffered a severe accident when he fell into a staircase opening during house construction. After numerous surgeries, doctors believed he would never walk again, but Tomaž recovered and continued climbing.
His passion for the Himalayas was immense. Despite numerous injuries and obstacles that hindered his normal movement, he always returned and challenged the highest peaks. His final expedition was on Nanga Parbat, but fate caught up with him this time. He passed away during an ascent on the 7,227-meter-high Mount Langtang Lirung in November 2009.
At the request of his family, Tomaž Humar was buried in the Himalayas, where he felt most at home and closest to what he loved - mountaineering.

Some thoughts by Tomaž Humar:
To be and remain HUMAN.
Think collectedly – the path will be collected.
Think brightly – the heart will be cheerful.
Think peacefully – you will find peace.
Think creatively – you will build castles.
Think positively – you will overcome illness.
Think gratefully – and it will be given to you.
Think visionary – you will open doors for others too.
Think responsibly – the world will be fairer.
Think compassionately – you will break barriers among people.
Think of nothing – the only path to meditation.
As much as you value yourself, that's how much you are worth. Superiority is not beneficial to anyone, as you cannot rise above yourself, but you can grow within yourself when you confront your weaknesses. Self-proclaimed purists comment on others from the pulpits to hide their own mistakes... When you speak about others, you describe yourself. Those who have nothing to say about themselves talk about others. The more energy you spend on changing others, the less remains for you. Compassionate thought: change yourself, and you will change the world. And selfishness is not if you give yourself a new chance but if you defend it from others - for them to experience it.
As much truth as you possess, that's how true you are.
As many friends as you invoke, that's how many you will have.
As much wealth as you are capable of accepting, that's how much you will receive.
As much sunlight you let through the doors of your heart, to the same extent it will shine for others.
When you are ready to share, that's when you drink from the source.
Hear the voice, see the light, accept the gift, be grateful - to be and remain HUMAN.
