Geocache Description:

THE GEOCACHE

This two-stage geocache is one of 66 geocaches placed for the 2023 West Bend $1,000 Cache Ba$h.  The theme of this year’s Cache Ba$h is BLAST FROM THE PAST, with this cache highlighting the movie E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.   You’ll need to find the coordinates at the first stage to get the coordinates for the final stage.  Please leave the bash stamp that is in the cache for other finders to also use.

THE GROUNDS

Faith Haven is a 150-acre private property with ponds, trails, forest, prairies, farmland, a chapel, and two rental homes.  Originally owned by the Faith Haven Chapel, it is now a welcome place for all of those who wish to stroll the grounds to enjoy the peace and quiet of the outdoors.  The five geocaches placed on this property are placed with permission and are located a very short distance from the trails or edges of the mowed areas.  Suggested route to find the caches is to start with the 2326 Scooby Doo cache and go in a counter-clockwise direction, following the map as shown below.  After the find we would suggest taking the south path and then west along the trees back to the parking area.  Total distance of the loop if following the suggested route is approximately 1.5 miles.

BLAST FROM THE PAST: E.T. THE EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (or simply E.T.) is a 1982 movie produced and directed by Steven Spielberg. It tells the story of Elliott, a boy who befriends an extraterrestrial, dubbed “E.T.”, who is accidently left behind on Earth. Along with his friends and family, Elliott must find a way to help E.T. find his way home.  The film was an immediate blockbuster, surpassing Star Wars to become the highest-grossing film of all time.  Critics regard it as one of the greatest films of all time, and in 1994 the film was added to the United States National Film Registry of the Library of Congress, who deemed it "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."
