This is the first cache I have placed. I got permission to put the cache here (since it's my house). Having said that, you don't need to enter the private property and you should be able to reach from the sidewalk.
There are many places where you could hide a cache on Cardinal Drive. It took me a while to think of where to put the cache, and then I found a good spot. So good luck!
