We’re really lucky across the whole island of Ireland to have so many great COs with amazing, creative (at times devious) hides, and puzzles that have us scratching our heads, but that ultimately bring a smile to our faces and another smilie to our stats.
In the spirit of the Maker Magic initiative I want to encourage COs to bring their creativity along to inspire one another and especially those among us that haven't yet made the leap in hiding their own cache. So lets get together and share some good ideas.
Over the last year or so I’ve collected a few interesting containers along with inspiration for puzzles/mysteries and beyond, and I’m planning on bringing some of that along. I’ve got in touch with some COs that I know are using innovative techniques to improve their caches, and they’ve agreed to bring along some examples and provide a demonstration of how you could use these techniques for your own caches.
I encourage everyone to bring along an idea, doesn’t have to be a new one, or anything tangible, maybe just a fresh way of looking at things and we can chat about them on the day. If you're new to the game or to hiding caches, there'll be plenty of experienced COs on hand to take you through the process so we can help make your first hide a great one!
Hopefully everyone will go home with some sparks of inspiration to create their own new caches.
Saturday 24th June 2023
10.30am to 11.30am
Loughgall Country Park (at the posted coordinates)
Please note that there is a charge of around £2.60 for parking in the park, regardless of how long you stay. Upon entering the Park, you will reach a barrier, please go into the reception on your left to pay for the parking and the receptionist will lift the barrier. If you would prefer not to pay for parking and wish to park in the village, please be considerate of the residents when choosing your parking spot.
There may be some snacks provided but you might want to bring your own tea or coffee etc. There are plenty of caches in the park already to find on the day.
