Geocache Description:

30 July 2023, 10:30 - 16:00

Welcome to the 4th Fox Valley Geocaching Road Rally!

Event begins at the picnic shelter at Jennerjohn Park in Greenville, WI.

Rain or shine we will have the event. There is no such thing as bad weather, just unprepared geocachers.
Event begins at 10:30 am, Road Rally teams will start out at 11 am on Sunday, July 30th.

Geo-chatting all day long! Come for lunch and to watch other cachers come back in from the rally. ALL are welcome to attend the event and enjoy the food and geo-chat.

The Fox Valley Road Rally is a social gathering and is as competitive of a game as you wish to make it.

Bathrooms are present at the shelter.

Official FOX VALLEY ROAD RALLY rules will be announced approximately 1 week before the event.

MORE TO COME!!! Form your team!

***EVENT DESCRIPTION AND RULES***

Children are welcome and encouraged to attend the event. There is a playground next to the shelter to give the little ones a way to have fun. We recommend only kids 12 or older on a Rally team due to the number of stops and getting in and out of the car safely and quickly. You know your children best so ultimately the choice is up to you.

The course will take at least 3-4 hours depending on what you decide to do and what we come up with.

Everyone will be sent out at the same time. Teams can consist of up to 6 people with the goal of this event to be fun and socialization. Feel free to form your own teams or reach out to others to come together to play.

The new caches will be published the day of the event  wink . There is much more to this than finding caches.

Every team will be given a score sheet and an explanation of the challenges.

Keep this page on your watch list for updates. Otherwise, we hope to see you this weekend

*****
If you need team members, reach out to others to find a team through the event page and form up your group.

Each 3-6 person team will need the following:

1) One cell phone capable of taking digital photos or a digital camera and posting to the Fox Valley Road Rally | Small Town group page

2) A vehicle with enough gasoline in it to go ~45 miles and enough room to fit the entire team safely.

4) One member with good reading / navigating skills.

5) One member with a valid driver's license (this should be the driver). :)

6) $20 per team to do optional tasks

7) A pen

8) The capability of entering Lat/Long Coordinates into the devices they use for the event (GPSr, or smartphones).

*Hot dogs will be provided. Bring a chair.* *Bring a food item to pass*

In order to keep things fun and fair, here are some Road Rally Regulations:

Teams of at least 3 but not more than 6 people - only allowed one motorized vehicle per team. Y'all gotta compete from the same vehicle.

You will have 4 hours to complete the rally. Where you go and what you do will be up to you.

Points are how you win.

In the unlikely event of a tie, shorter time will be the tiebreaker.  Time only matters for the tiebreaker AND if you go over time of 4 hours, sharp. Every 10 minutes, or fraction thereof, over time will be a deduction of 5 points.

Everything is optional except for smiling, laughing, having fun and making memories that last. These are required by all and are mandatory.

It should go without saying, but do not sabotage or make more difficult the hides for other teams. Saboteurs will be disqualified.

The Top 3 Teams will receive bragging rights until the next Fox Valley Road Rally in addition to their medals. This is meant to be a competitive, fun event.
