MK23 Wildlife Trail G - Grey Heron
Depending which way round you're doing this Wherigo you might have already encountered the noisy geese but the Heron is much quieter and more graceful. They're tall and stand very still whilst watching for prey, flying with their large wingspan. It is just possible you could also see a Great (Blue) Heron although they are much rarer outside of North America. Willen Lake in particular has sizeable 'heronries' in the tree tops.
This is one of 26 caches celebrating the flora and fauna of Milton Keynes, it's not just concrete cows and roundabouts. How many of our different plants and animals can you spot in our City? Please do add photos to yours logs
All the caches are on a walk near Willen Lake and can be easily navigated. They are all available from running the Wherigo cartridge which is available here: MK23 Wildlife Trail
Thank you to the Parks Trust and MKGees for their help and permission to set these caches.
