MK23 Wildlife Trail I - Ibis
Not to be confused with the hotel chain the Ibis, or in this case really the Glossy Ibis is a celebration of the rarer or more unusual birds that are seen in Milton Keynes. There is a growing trend for the Glossy Ibis to winter in the UK but there were only 22 sightings as recently as 2010. One was spotted at the Floodplain Forest Nature Reserve in December 2021.
Other rare sightings of birds include White Tailed Eagles, Night Herons and more recently Marsh Warblers which caused quite a stir among local birders as it's estimated there are only 20 breeding pairs in the UK.

This is one of 26 caches celebrating the flora and fauna of Milton Keynes, it's not just concrete cows and roundabouts. How many of our different plants and animals can you spot in our City? Please do add photos to yours logs
All the caches are on a walk near Willen Lake and can be easily navigated. They are all available from running the Wherigo cartridge which is available here: MK23 Wildlife Trail
Thank you to the Parks Trust and MKGees for their help and permission to set these caches.
