Ardchattan Priory Traditional Cache

I discovered this fascinating little gem recently, following a sign from the north end of the Connel Bridge.

You can access to the priory any time (there's a donations box) and it is well worth a visit. The ruin is sort of attached to a private home and the gardens are open to visitors on Wednesdays. I'd never heard of the Valliscaulian monks until I came here. Click on this link to read more: website

There's space to park a couple of cars overlooking the tranquil bay.

I recommend continuing on the road north as it passes through a beautiful valley, then a lovely forested area before rejoining the main road again some miles later. It is single track, but with plenty of decent sized passing places. A camper van would manage it, but I'd not recommend trying to take a caravan!
